Stony Hill Players "The Marriage of Figaro"
The Stony Hill Players presents Mozart's comedic masterpiece, sung in English and set in modern day New Jersey. The plot of The Marriage of Figaro covers a single day's crazy antics in the mansion of a Senator. When a married Senator schemes to obtain the favors of Susanna, his advisor Figaro's bride-to-be, and prevent their wedding, the Senator's wife conspires with Susanna and Figaro to expose his plot and bring the wayward husband back to his faithful wife.
Mozart's music, played by a live chamber orchestra, is miraculous, as always. The plot twists and antics are hilarious and, as one critic said, "so engrossing you almost forget you're watching an opera!"
