The South Mountain Running Collective invites runners of all abilities to join this Thursday evening (Feb. 18) for the Run for Haiti, where all proceeds go to organizations providing relief to earthquake victims.
Here's how it works: the Run for Haiti is a virtual event, where runners around the world pledge to run 4 miles. The event is put together by the New York Road Runners, New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, and MapMyRun.com. They pledge 100 percent of all proceeds will go to reputable organizations doing relief work. Register for the event at http://www.mapmyrun.com/virtual_event/ny_haiti/index
The South Mountain Running Collective, an all-volunteer group of runners, meets at 7 pm every Thursday at the Millburn High School track, 462 Millburn Avenue, Millburn.
Join us this Thursday and, after registering for the virtual Run for Haiti, have your workout help charitable efforts.
If the track is clear, runners will be on the track. If it is covered with snow the group will meet in the parking lot and run on the roads.
