Computers Stolen in Burglary at Millburn Business

The Zitter Group on Bleeker Street reported a burglary and the loss of much equipment.

Millburn police are investigating a burglary at the Zitter Group on Bleeker Street in Millburn, where directors reported on Monday the theft of computers and other equipment from the company sometime over the holiday weekend.

Three laptop computers, a projector, a table-top camera, two docking stations and one laptop case were removed from different locations in the office. One employee who came into the building on Sunday said she saw that the door was propped open with a chair, although she did not notice anything missing at that time, according to Officer Alfred Freem’s report. Police are investigating activity and card swipe entries to the building over the weekend, but also looking into the possibility that someone could have broken into the building by manipulating the front door lock.

In other police news, Millburn police also are investigating two crimes at Nordstrom – one in which an employee admitted stealing $2,223  between December and the end of March. The employee signed a promisary note and was fired.

In another case at Nordstrom, a Shanece Kearney of Henderson N.C., used a credit card in March to charge $2,639 worth of merchandise and left the store. Later that day, Nordstrom received a call from a Nordstrom in Menlo Park stating that Kearney had been arrested by Edison police for attempting to use the same credit card, whih belonged to another woman. Nordstrom reported the case to Millburn police on Monday.
