A Friday afternoon fire caused major damage at a Millburn Chinese restaurant and backed up traffic along Millburn Avenue and Essex streets.
The two-alarm fire at Q.J. Green Garden was first reported at approximately 1 p.m., according to thealternativepress.com.
The fire likely started on the first floor and made its way through ductwork to the third floor, officials told the website.
The standalone building suffered "major damage" at its rear and in a second-floor attic, according to nj.com, but no one was hurt in the incident.
The exact cause of the fire is unknown, officials said.
Approximately 50 firefighters from Millburn, Maplewood, Irvington, West Orange, Summit and Springfield reported to the scene, according to nj.com.
The streets in front of and behind the restaurant—Millburn Avenue and Essex Street—were closed by officials, causing backups and detours.
