Millburn Police Arrest Bloomfield Burglar with Public's Help

The suspect was arrested after being identified by the public.

 

Millburn Police recently arrested a Bloomfield man, Guy Colavito, 45, for burglary and theft, after asking for help through media outlets last month. 

The burglary investigation started Aug. 1, when power tools were stolen from a residence on Highview Road in Short Hills. Police believed him to be a local construction worker.

Police in an attempt to identify him and last week the public responded.

Calavito was found and arrested for the Highview Road robbery Thursday, Aug. 30.

According to Captain Michael Palardy, a viewer recognized Colavito while watching News 12 and called police.

Bail was set at $20,000.  The suspect is in Essex County Jail, after being linked to other burglaries, police officials said. The Millburn Police Despartment said it has no further details, as the case is now being handled by the county.
