Four Face Drug, Warrant Charges After Two-Car Stop in Millburn

One man was charged with possession of cocaine, one for unregistered, unlicensed, and uninsured car and two others charged for active warrants.

Millburn police charged a Rockaway man with possession of cocaine and three others for active warrants after traffic stop Tuesday, authorities said.

According to Capt. Michael Palardy, police spotted a 2000 Lexus RX300 with an unfamiliar out of state temporary license plate driving on Main Street at about 3:30 p.m.

When police started to follow the Lexus, a Toyota Camry following the Lexus made a quick right turn onto Church Street and was stopped for an expired registration, according to the report.

The Toyota was driven by Henry Rivera, who did not have a license, registration or proof of insurance the report stated.

All five passengers told police they were day laborers hired to repair a roof in Newark and were following their boss in a Lexus. The report stated the men appeared overly nervous.

While trying to identify the five men, Bryan Camacho-Naranjo walked up to the officers and told police his boss had just dropped him off in a Lexus. However, a few minutes later, he told police he was driving the Lexus and parked it on Spring Street near Main Street, according to the report.

Camacho-Naranjo returned to the parked Lexus and another police car arrived. He told police he was involved with a business that buys and sells cars that is based out of New York.

After the car came back unregistered, police searched the car and found a bag of cocaine in the drop-down sunglasses holder, Palardy said.

According to the report, police also searched the Toyota and found additional license plates in the trunk.

Rivera was identified as William Orellana, 25, of Dover, when he was brought back to headquarters. He was charged with unregistered, unlicensed, fictitious tags, uninsured and hindering apprehension for providing police with false name. He also had two active warrants from Dover and Parssipany.

Camacho-Naranjo was charged with possession of cocaine. He was released with a pending court date.

Passesnger Jefferson Cabrera, 19, of Dover, was arrested for an active warrant out of Seaside Heights and another passenger Christopher Sanchez, 26, of Florham Park, was arrested for an active warrant also from Morris County.
