Summit Pair Accused of Shoplifting From Mall

Giorgi Zaridze, 33, and Begench Berdyyev, 19, were caught stealing from Bloomingdales on Friday, police said.

Millburn police arrested two Summit men Friday afternoon for stealing from the Mall at Short Hills, authorities said.

According to Capt. Bernie Neuhaus, a delivery man, Giorgi Zaridze, 33, of Summit, walked into Bloomingsdales around 1:30 p.m. and picked up a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses and shirt.

Zaridze tried to leave the store with both items without paying, police said. The sunglasses were valued at $185 and the shirt at $135, Neuhaus said. 

Zaridze was arrested and charged with shoplifting. 

After a further investigation, police said Begench Berdyyev, 19, also of Summit, attempted to steal a $120 shirt from Bloomingdales, Neuhaus said.

Both were charged with shoplifting and released with a court date at Millburn Municipal Court.
