Police Blotter: Arrest Made in Home Intrusion

Millburn Police arrested an alleged burglar on Sunday and charged him with stealing jewelry and electronics from a Hampshire Road residence this summer. The theft took place while the residents were home.
Marcus Sorbino, 32, of Newark was charged with theft after he was linked to the burglary through a DNA test, Millburn police said.
The burglaryclose to 2 a.m. while the residents were home. They locked their bedroom door and called 911 when they heard the intruder. They also sounded their internal security alarm.

According to the arrest report, Sorbino entered the residence through a rear window and took jewelry and electronics, including Tiffany necklaces, a Nintendo DS and Apple iPad.
The “burglar was arrested because of confirmed DNA evidence left at the scene,” Millburn police said on Monday. “The victims were notified and thrilled of the outcome.”
