The sentencing for a seven-year township employee who pleaded guilty to stealing more than $500 from Millburn has been postponed untl next month, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said Monday.
Jennifer Lubisco's sentencing was originally scheduled for Monday morning in Newark Superior Court before Judge Michael L. Ravin but was adjourned until September, said Kathy Carter, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office.
The reason for the adjournment was not immediately known, according to Carter. The exact date and time of the sentencing was also unknown.
Lubisco, 33, of Millburn, was charged March 27 with stealing money while working as a customer service representative for the township recreation department, Carter said.
According to Carter, Lubisco pleaded guilty in July. Under her original charges, Lubisco faced up to five years in state prison, but the details of the plea bargain were not available.
Although, the exact amount of money Lubisco was charged with stealing was unknown, an internal audit between January 2011 and August 2012 revealed approximately $8,000 was missing, Carter said.
