Short Hills Man Gets 8 Years for Distributing Child Porn

Jonathan Martin admitted in 2012 to making images and videos of child sex abuse that were shared from his computer.

A 24-year-old man who has a Short Hills address was sentenced Thursday to eight years in prison for distributing child porn, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

Jonathan Martin, who has addresses in Jersey City and Short Hills, pleaded guilty on April 30, 2012 to one count of distributing child pornography.

Martin admitted in 2012 to making images and videos of child sexual abuse that were stored on his computer and were available to others to download via an online peer-to-peer sharing network, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

An undercover agent downloaded 15 images from Martin's file sharing network, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

U.S. District Judge Stanley R. Chesler sentenced Martin on Thursday to 96 months in prison for distributing images and videos of child sex abuse over the Internet, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Chesler also ordered Martin to have five years of supervised release and he must pay $35,000 in restitution.
