Unlocked Car Stolen from Short Hills Country Club, Cops Say

Millburn police say a car was stolen Sunday night from the Canoe Brook Country Club after it was left unlocked with the keys in the front console.

Millburn police are investigating an alleged car theft early Sunday evening at a Short Hills country club, where the owner left

According to Capt. Michael Palardy, a Madison woman parked her car in the rear lot of the Canoe Brook Country Club, 1108 Route 24,  at about 4:30 p.m.

When the woman returned to her car at 7 p.m. the black 2013 BMW 750 was missing, Palardy said.

The woman told police the car was left unlocked with the keys in the front console. 

Additionally, a laptop was in the car valued at $2,000, Palardy said.

Millburn police are still investigating.
