Woman Accused of $1,300 Fraudulent Purchase at Mall

Earth Harris, 31, of New York, fraudulently used a debit card to buy clothing at the Mall at Short Hills, Millburn police say.

A 31-year-old New York woman was arrested Saturday for fraudulently using a debit card to buy $1,300 in clothing from The Mall at Short Hills, according to authorities.

Earth Harris was charged with theft by deception, fraudulent use of a credit card, credit card theft and drug possession.

According to Capt. Bernie Neuhaus, Millburn Police responded to a report from Bloomingdales just before 2:30 p.m. for a woman who used a fraudulent card to purchase clothing and left the store.

Neuhaus said officers spotted the car they believed Harris was a passenger in and conducted a motor vehicle stop.

Police found an unknown amount of marijuana when Harris was arrested, according to Neuhaus. She was also charged with possession.

Police contacted the person whose account was used in the fraudulent purchase and the items were returned to the store, Neuhaus added.
