New Jersey State Offices Closed Monday

Closures announced ahead of Hurricane Sandy.

 

State offices will be closed Monday in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy, Gov. Chris Christie's office announced.

Non-essential employees should not report to work Monday, while essential employees should report to work on schedule, according to the press release.

Christie declared a state of emergency on Saturday and ordered the evacuation of the Barrier Islands by 4 p.m. on Sunday. Gaming will stop at 3 p.m. in Atlantic Casinos, with casinos to close at 4 p.m. In addition, tolls have been suspended on the northbound Garden State Parkway and the Atlantic City Expressway beginning Sunday at 6 a.m.
