Winter Storm Watch 2013

All you need to know about the winter storm below but don't forget to enjoy the snowy Saturday and upload your photos throughout the storm!

Meteorologists are predicting this Nor’easter will bring more than a foot of snow and heavy winds to Millburn and the rest of Essex County through Saturday afternoon. 

Below Patch is compiling a list of closures, delays and things you should know throughout town. Please add any information you have in the comments. 

The township encourages residents to stay off the roads as much as possible so the roads can be cleared.

Here's a list of closures, delays and other things resident should be aware of:

  • Millburn Director of Recreation and Parks ski trip has been postponed.
  • The library closed at 2:45 p.m. on Friday and is Saturday. 
  • Essex County has declared a state of emergency, according to the county’s Office of Emergency Management. No parking will be allowed on country roads after 2 p.m. Friday and vehicles left on roads will be towed.
  • To report downed wires or power outages to JCP&L, call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) or click here to report your outage online.
  • Have a new generator after Superstorm Sandy? Make sure you follow these safety precautions.
  • Schools were dismissed early on Friday. 
  • Paper Mill Playhouse's classes for Friday, Feb. 8 and Saturday Feb. 9 are canceled. Make-up classes for Feb. 8 are TBA and classes for Feb. 9 are Saturday, Feb. 16.
  • Garbage collection for zone 3 and 6 on Saturday is cancelled. Recycling in zone 6 is also cancelled.
