Board of Ed Approves Additional Bus Route Contract

New Millburn High School route starts Friday, Feb. 1.

At the Monday, Jan. 28 Millburn's Board of Education meeting, the board approved a contract to Barker Bus of Bridgewater, N.J., for an additional high school bus route.

The contract was approved for the period beginning Friday Feb. 1 and running through Sunday, June 30 and will cost the district $144 per diem, board officials said.

According to Business Administrator Steven Di Geronimo, the original bids received were overbudget and were rejected.

The company assures continuity and will fit together with existing routes, Geronimo said.

Also at the meeting the board released budget documents, including cut sheet, surplus analysis, budget's first draft and enrollment projections.

More on the Jan. 28 board meeting to follow.
