Parents Must Re-register Rising 9th Graders

Mandatory re-registration runs June 4-29. Students who don't re-register will not be allowed to attend school in the fall.

For the first time ever, Millburn Township Schools will begin a process to make sure all students who attend school in the township, live in the township.

To that end, school officials will require that ALL incoming 9th grade students re-register, in June, providing proof of residency.

“In an effort to be sure that the Millburn School District is providing a free public education to those students who are domiciled in the township of Millburn, it is important that, from time to time, the district re-verify student residence,” Superintendent Dr. James Crisfield told 8th Grade parents in a letter sent out Friday. “To be certain that all of our school district resources are directed only toward the education of eligible students, the Millburn Public Schools are, for the first time, instituting a mandatory re-registration of one grade of students…”
