The Education Foundation of Millburn and Short Hills will kick off the 2012-13 school year with a mini “Millburn Schools Rock” fundraiser at 8 p.m. on Thurday, in Martini Bar & Bistro.
The event in downtown Millburn is open to the public and tickets may be purchased at the door for $25. The donation covers entrance to the show plus one beverage (soft drink, beer or wine).
The evening’s highlight is a live performance by The Northstar Session, TNS, a Los Angeles-based band. TNS was featured last year on NBCʼs hit series Parenthood.
This rock trio of Matt Szlachetka, Kane McGee, and Dave Basaraba has played over 500 shows, touring 3 weeks out of every month since the 2010 release of their third full-length album “Late Bloomer.”
“We are thrilled to have the Northstar Session come to Martinis to do a show that will benefit the Ed Foundation,” Martini’s owner Ted Stampoulos said in a release. “This is going to be a great party, and what could be more important than raising money to benefit the kids in our township public schools?”
The Education Foundation of Millburn and Short Hills provides innovative and progressive programs, technology, and staff development which helps ensure continued educational excellence for Millburn Public Schools, enriching the academic experience.
