Millburn Tennis Boys Make All-State Teams

Post-season honors are the icing on the cake after a championship season.

As if winning the county, section, group, and Tournament of Champions titles weren't enough, the Millburn High School boys' tennis team has garnered yet more honors for its 2012 spring season.

All of the starters were named to various all-state, all-group, and all-county teams and recently crowned "Team of the Year" by the Star Ledger.

Named to the first team all-state were Miller first doubles Mac Johnson and Jared Wishnow, who were finalists in the state doubles championship.

Selected for the first team all-state by position were MHS third singles Dean Koman and second doubles Teddy Moskovitz and Nicky Chen-Schmidt. This distinction means that these players were the best at their positions in the state this season.

Johnson, Wishnow, Chen-Schmidt, and Moskovitz were also named to the first team for Group 3.

Miller first singles Tyler Schick was named to the second team for Group 3, and second singles Rob Xie and Koman made the third team for Group 3.

On the Essex County level, Schick, Johnson, and Wishnow made the all-county first team, while Xie, Chen-Schmidt, and Moskovitz were named to the all-county second team.

I think the "undefeated" girls tennis team was even better.
