Millburn High School Presents Annual Jazz Concert

Free concert is scheduled for May 1.

The Music Department of Millburn High School proudly presents the annual Night of Jazz concert on Thursday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. This concert is free and open to the public. The music department is proud to celebrate and recognize "Jazz Appreciation Month," sponsored by the National Association for Music Education and the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. 

The concert will feature the high school's Stage Band conducted by Director of Bands Mindy Scheierman, Lab Band, conducted by Associate Director Matthew Spatz, and the Middle School Jazz Band, conducted by middle school band directors Adrienne Blossey and Brian Fleming. 

Musical selections will include Groovin' Hard, Sack of Woe, Cantaloupe Island, Blues March, Hit the Bricks, This I Dig of You, So What, and March Bopish.

Seniors Nicholas Azulay, Aashish Ahuja, David Butcher, Keegan Caulfield, Sam Curtis, Josh Harmon, Josh Kaufman, Elyse Kuo, Robert Lando, Sylvia Levy, Laurel Meng, Genevieve Nelson, Eugene Ng, Joseph Scalzo, Gideon Tamir, Steffan Young, and Richard Zhao, will be recognized and featured with their respective ensembles.

Night of Jazz XV will be professionally recorded and preorders will be accepted in the lobby. In addition, orders for the high school spring concert series, as well as Music Booster membership forms, will be available. If you need additional information please call John Leahey, Director of Music, at 973.376.3600 ext. 375.
