Winston Speaker Series Features 'Fonz' Winkler

Henry Winkler, best known for his role as The Fonz, will be speaking in Millburn-Short Hills later this month.

Winkler will speak at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25 at Temple B'nai Jeshurun in Short Hills as part of the Winston Speaker Series. "An Evening with Henry Winkler" is free and open to the public. Children in middle school or older are invited to attend.

Winkler struggled with undiagnosed dyslexia as a child and was diagnosed at age 31 when his son was identified with learning disabilities.  In 2003, he began writing a series of children’s novels based on a character he created, Hank Zipzer, a smart student with learning differences, but a great sense of humor and adventure.

Winston School students, who range in age from 8 to 13, are challenged with language-based learning disabilities. In keeping with its mission to serve not only the needs of children with learning differences but also the community at large, The Winston Speaker Series was introduced over a decade ago. The Series has hosted a variety of experts who have offered information on topics of interest to all parents of school-aged children.
