Wyoming Kindergarteners Learn About Local Pumpkin Patch

Kindergarten classes at the school visited the Pumpkin Patch at Wyoming Presbyterian Church this past week.

Kindergarten classes at Wyoming Elementary visited the Pumpkin Patch at Wyoming Presbyterian Church this past week.

The students were welcomed by Franny Van Gombos, the pastor's wife, who told the children about how the pumpkins came to the patch from New Mexico and where the proceeds from each sale goes.

She explained to the students how the money that the church gets from selling the pumpkins go back to an Indian reservation in New Mexico to help children there get school supplies.

It also goes to a program called Living Waters which coordinates the installation of water filtration systems around the world to provide clean water for people who would otherwise have to drink dirty water and to support people right here in New Jersey who do not have enough to eat.
