UnWined; Gem in the Heart of Downtown Millburn

Millburn Patch performs a Q&A interview with unWined owner Jose Sotelo in anticipation of Small Business Saturday.

What type of business is unWined?

Sotelo: "We are a wine boutique specializing in wines from small vineyards."

How long has your business been in the township?

Sotelo: "2 1/2 years."

What is your signature item or an important feature of your business?

Sotelo: "Right now we are highlighting winter wines. A feature of ours that many people utilize is our unWined App, which is where customers sign up for the app on our website at www.unwinedboutique.com. Through the app, customers can browse through our choices of wine, call us and order a bottle(s) and then we will deliver their order to them to any local restaurant that they are at during that time in town."

What are some of the positives and negatives of owning a small business?

Sotelo: "Some positives are that you are your own boss and can dictate the working environment; flexible schedules; and it is rewarding to be able to get a lot accomplished and personally talk to customers. A negative is that there can be a lot of down time, such as during the summer when everyone goes on vacation and it is quiet."

What is the best thing about owning a small business in Millburn?

Sotelo: "The township is very supportive of small businesses and they do come out to show it. They do like to promote and sponsor small businesses around here."

unWined is located at 345 Millburn Ave. Check out the boutique on Nov. 30 to celebrate Small Business Saturday.
