Who's Running the ING New York City Marathon?

Tell us if you're running and how you plan to train.

Lottery numbers were drawn Wednesday for the ING New York City Marathon; was yours among them?

Back when you could just sign up, I ran the NYC Marathon, and I still feel a little like I should run it again whenever I see people start their training. Then my knees remind me that I really prefer shorter distances and/or walking now.

But, here at Patch, we'd really like to know who won the lottery and will be running the streets of Millburn and Short Hills in preparation for the marathon on Sunday, Nov. 4. If you haven't checked yet, the lottery results are available here.

If you're in, Patch would like to follow your journey, not just the 26.2 miles, but the training sessions this summer.  Tell us in the comments how you'll prepare. Email laura.griffin@patch.com, if you'd like to blog about the experience.

Experienced runner? Do you have tips for the first-timer? Tell us in the comments.

Runners, take your marks.

I will be training on the streets and hills of pittsburgh. Having ran a marathon before I will train as I normally do. 5-6 miles a day during the week with one day for speed training. Then one weekend day will be used as my LSD day and I will increase the workout load until I am at 22 miles for my LSD. Then about 3 weeks before the race I will start to back off and rest up a bit.
