President's Cup Draws 1,500 Runners to Millburn

Ken Goglas, 31, of Port Reading, won Millburn's Monday 5K with a time of 15:01.

More than 1,500 people from around New Jersey filled downtown Millburn for the annual President’s Cup 5K Night Race on Monday night.

Ken Goglas, 31, of Port Reading, came in first with a time of 15:01. Stephen Mennit, 23, of Edison, was shortly behind Goglas who finished second. 

The 34th Annual Investors Savings Bank President’s Cup Night Race was co-sponsored by the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce.

The event began in the Charlie Brown's parking lot, where runners registered, free water was given out, a sneaker raffle was hosted and free cups of Sam Adams were distributed.

At 7:30, a kids' fun run kicked off. After the kids' race, the 5K run began at 8 p.m. following a route along Essex Street and Millburn Avenue.
