Junior League Nurse Pantry Program Makes an Impact

JLOSH has installed four pantries, serving some 1400 students, at elementary schools in Orange.

The Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills Nurse Pantry Program provides some of the neediest school children with “wellness essentials” that many take for granted.

Used by the school nurse on an as-needed basis, the pantries have provided hundreds of winter necessities, dental supplies, toiletries, uniforms, undergarments and hygiene supplies. To date, JLOSH has installed four pantries, serving some 1400 students, at elementary schools in Orange. By providing these items, JLOSH affects a child’s education by enabling them to remain in school and in their classrooms.

The Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills, Inc. is an organization of women developed as civic and community leaders creating lasting community impact.  JLOSH provides service to East Orange, Livingston, Maplewood, Millburn, Orange, Short Hills, South Orange, Springfield and West Orange, and reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins.
