Zoning Board Set to Meet Monday

Here's what is going on in Millburn-Short Hills this week.

On Monday, the Zoning Board of Adjustment Meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Town Hall on the second floor. Agenda to come. 

On Tuesday, the PTO will host a second candidates forum at 10 a.m. in the Millburn Public Library. 

On Thursday, the Short Hills Association will host a candidate forum for the two committeemen running unopposed for seats in the November election. 

The Republican Municipal County Committee has selected Ian Mount as a candidate to run for the open seat of long-time Committeeman Thomas McDermott.

The local Republicans also picked current Committeeman Ted Bourke to run for re-election on the township committee. Bourke is currently serving as deputy mayor and has served on the committee since 2011.

McDermott announced in March he would not seek re-election this coming November.

"I've served my 18 years on the committee," he said. "I think it's time to move on and let someone else take over."

The township committee is comprised of five members who serve three-year terms.

Also on Thursday, the Born to Run 3K Race will be held at the Millburn High School at 5 p.m.

On Friday, the 21st annual Farmers Market will continue on Friday at 8 a.m. in Municipal Lot No. 1, on the corner or Main and Essex Streets. It will be held there every Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
