At Millburn's Garage, simple is better. Simple, as in old-style hotdogs (boiled, then grilled), hamburgers, creamy old-fashioned ice cream, root beer floats, milk shakes and egg creams. In its converted car garage eatery, families and friends can enjoy classic delights such as charbroiled or skillet fried Angus prime burgers, and triple-thick milkshakes. For those more calorie conscious, tuna, caesar and baby spinach salads shouldn't disappoint. Take out and delivery options are available, and be sure to ask about their catering service too for your all of party needs.

Gee, doesn't every restaurant in town buy food elsewhere and cook it, lol? And no, I'm not friends with the owner, other than getting a hello when I visit and a goodbye when I leave, so you're incorrect on your bias/suspicion conspiracy theory.

I am biased towards locally owned stores, so I'll spend money at say SEED and Babyland to support these owners rather than zip off to the Short Hills Mall. Same reason why I get coffee at RocknJoe's-the owner takes care of me, not a 'manager' who works at for Starbucks from Seattle. That's just me, we're all free to spend our $ where we choose.

Last summer, over 100 foodies took part in a NJ Hot Dog tour, and the Garage was one of 7 locations visited. It was voted best hot dog of its type, for the Syd's and Don's hot dogs they sell. During the holidays, we took a break from fine dining and had a table of ten, from pre-teens to an octogenarian-and we had a delightful meal, well served. The double burger cheese surprise (a la Dons) was a huge hit. On another note, this is a restaurant owned by a local family. It think they serve a niche well. We will continue to be patrons. With Millburn Deli sloppy joes going for $7.50 (and I'm happy to pay it) I don't see The Garage as being expensive for sit down meals.

Wow. He buys hot dogs elsewhere, cooks them and puts them in a bun. Not that great a feat.

Local family...understood, but that does not make them immune from warranted criticism. I have a suspicion you are friendly with the owner, so your bias is showing.

I was hoping it would be better as the concept is great. Having eaten there 4 times over the past year, it is disappointing. The food quality is fair, the selection very limited and the service is just ok.

They need to lower the price point and try to get more kids there or increase the food quality.

I have no interest in returning
