HGECC creates a nurturing, non-competitive environment where children can develop their cognitive, gross, social and fine-motor skills through play, experimentation and hands-on experiences in all subject areas. The new state-of-the-art facility opened in 2010 and includes two fully enclosed playgrounds, a children's library and age-appropriately equipped classrooms. Class sizes at HGECC are small and taught by state-certified teachers.

The Hedwig Gruenwald Early Childhood Center at B'nai Israel has been the perfect preschool for our family. I have one daughter about to “graduate” from HGECC and another wrapping up her Together Time experience as she gets ready to start the 2′s program. HGECC was our first home away from home when we moved to the area a few years ago. The director, Rochelle Baron, made our family feel so comfortable and the preschool has become a beloved place. My older daughter has made wonderful friends in a nurturing environment while her teachers have guided her learning to prepare her for K in September. We are so grateful for our wonderful experience at HGECC!

If you are looking for a total package preschool experience, with a nurturing environment, stellar program, wonderful teachers/staff and a place to become involved, look no further than HGECC at B'nai Israel. Children learn the concept of community every day and enact it. It’s a place where both my kids forged lasting friendships, and as a parent, I have, too. As a new family last year at the preschool, I was so impressed that not just their own teachers, but ALL the teachers knew my kids names the first week. It is an incredibly warm, inviting preschool. I think both my kids have benefited from the social skills they’ve learned at HGECC, and the content they are learning is even more impressive. My 3-year old daughter is excited about what she’s learning, and comes home with great concepts like hibernation, migration, and tricks to learning to write her letters. I love that she’s carrying over concepts from school, and the other night she put on a puppet show for us, reciting the whole story of Purim. As for our experience at HGECC, I can’t say enough positive things about it.
