Founded in 1934, this celebrated local theater has been proclaimed the "Official State Theater" of New Jersey. It produces several shows each year, especially musicals, and draws theatergoers from as far away as New York. It has an extensive education program, which has produced recent actors like Anne Hathaway.

A jewel in a town which isn't particularly exciting to visit, or pedestrian-friendly. The restaurant was a natural addition, and the shows are quite good. Chatham's playhouse, while nice, can't hold a candle to the PMP.
