I went to Drew some time ago...and everyone, including myself, loved George..He always wasRead More realistic, but had a funny spin or a funny story to share to make everyone anywhere laugh...and always made a person feel good. I want more of the George type of person around in the world as there does not seem to be many at all.

This make me very sad. Rebhorn was a true gentleman - the quiet and gentle sort of a person whoRead More understood what really matters in life. Jim communicated this sincere knowing through his honest, open conversations whether in passing on the running track, during community events, or when interviewed. He was a great actor and a wonderful person. He touched a lot of people - what a loss for all of us. I am sending Jim's family prayerful and caring thoughts.

Parents of college-aged youth should be angry! Why? In 1989, Congress passed a law requiringRead More colleges and universities to seriously address campus alcohol excesses. The consequence of noncompliance can be loss of federal funding, including federal subsidized student financial aid. Although in effect for more than twenty years, there has been no enforcement action taken against any college, despite wide spread media coverage of the problem. The reason? The US Department of Education has failed to enforce the statute. The three links below are for 1) a recently released report by the Office of the Inspector General for the US Department of Education; 2) an article published this week in the Chronicle of Higher Education (Education Department's Report on Alcohol and Drugs May Prompt Crackdown.); and a report aired recently by WNPR (Report Finds Inadequate Oversight Of College Alcohol Abuse Prevention Programs.) http://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/oig/aireports/i13l0002.pdf http://chronicle.com/article/Education-Departments-Report/131471/ http://www.yourpublicmedia.org/content/wnpr/report-finds-inadequate-oversight-college-alcohol-abuse-prevention-programs The links describe a governmental failure at least as significant as others recently reported in that this failure is at the risk of student safety and lives. I think back to when Mr Jonach first came to Millburn High School when I was a student there inRead More 1992. He was always a warm friendly face and had him for a substitute before beginning his teaching career. It's a sad loss for the Millburn school system and will be missed. So sad a life would be cut short like that. Thomas Russo, Millburn High School Class of 1993
