Casey Schwartz, a 14-year-old in Millburn, is part the first-generation of people who no memory of life before the Internet. Schwartz regularly tracks the number of followers on her Instagram and Tumblr blog and how many friends she has on Facebook, according to Huffington Post. She even uses the app InstaFollow, which track who unfollows her on Instagram and immediately unfollows them. However, her biggest statistic stressor is how many 'likes' she gets when she changes her profile picture, the article says. Group IV state champion Millburn High School enters the Tournament of Champions as top seed.
Millburn High School's boys varsity tennis team won its fifth straight group title Wednesday in the NJSIAA Groups competition, held at Mercer County Park in West Windsor — crowning the team Group IV champions. The Millburn team will defend its Tournament of Champions title next week as it competes with five other group champions as first seed. In the groups competition, the Millers drew a tough semifinal competitor in Livingston High School. Though Millburn had defeated Livingston in their previous meetings this season, a win was by no means assured. The South Orange schedule was changed last fall, before Superstorm Sandy. Riders charged that fewer seats and stops meant more crowded trains. In spring, the situation was changed. The Millburn Township Committee says it opposes the blasting on Dorison Drive, but no laws are being broken.
Millburn and Short Hills residents continued to protest the use of explosives at the residential construction site on Dorison Drive in Short Hills at Tuesday's Township Committee meeting, Mayor Sandra Haimoff said Wednesday. The mayor said she and the Township Committee are actively trying to see if they can stop the construction plans proposed. Currently, the plans have not been approved and have been sent back to the contractor for questions. However, if the the plans meet state laws, the local fire inspector is required to approve builders' plans. If not, the inspector would lose his or her license. Water maintenance is expected to cause delays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting this week.
Water maintenance at various locations on Glen and Wymoning Avenues will cause delays for residents during the day starting this week. Millburn police will be directing traffic and have detours set up for the New Jersey American Water project. It is unknown how long the project will take. Check back for updates on delays and detours later this week. The work is in preparation for the Glen Avenue Bridge repair project, which is scheduled to start at the end of 2013, according to the Millburn-Short Hills Item.

Newark Mayor Cory Booker wlll kick off the annual 2013 North Jersey Pride Festival, a day-long event on Sunday, June 9 from Noon to 6 p.m. at Memorial Park in Maplewood. The festival is the culmination of a full week of events in Maplewood and South Orange for the community of LGBT residents and supportive allies. The events are designed to focus on the importance of supporting Marriage Equality and LGBT youth, said the executive director of the non-profit North Jersey Pride, C.J. Prince.
