Millburn Businesses Rank in 'Best Of'

NJ Monthly readers vote on their favorite places statewide.

We all know Millburn has a quaint downtown with an abundance of chic shops,  excellent restaurants and a quality live theater, and now the rest of the state knows it, too. This year several Millburn businesses came in as runners up in the NJ Monthly magazine’s Best of New Jersey reader voted contest. In addition, magazine readers chose all four locations of Walter Bauman Jewelers (one is in Short Hills) as the best jewelry store in the state, offering designer lines and plenty of gold, silver and diamonds. (Other locations are in Union, Clifton, West Orange.) And while not in Millburn or Short Hills, the Wine Library on Morris Avenue is close enough to mention that it was chosen as best wine shop in the state. You can read about all the …

Parking Questioned by Business Leaders

Economic summit held at Town Hall

Downtown parking issues are a big problem, according to some business leaders who spoke during an economic summit at Town Hall Tuesday night. The Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Millburn Development Alliance sponsored the event for business owners to present ideas on how to make things better during tough economic times. It was standing room only in the meeting room. The leadership from both organizations and the newly formed Millburn-Short Hills Business Coalition presented what each offers its members before each person present was given the opportunity to speak. Last night's meeting at Town Hall was terrific! There were many insightful and creative comments from the participants. Parking in downtown was mentioned several times but in no way overshadowed the primary focus of the event.
