Cell Tower Proposed for Morris Turnpike Area

The tower would be behind the Short Hills Terrace apartments along the railroad tracks.

A proposal for a cellular tower on Morris Turnpike is drawing concern from some residents in the area. T-Mobile has proposed to construct a 140-foot cellular tower behind the Short Hills Terrace apartments at 806 Morris Turnpike. The proposed tower would be about 80 feet from the property line, adjacent to the train tracks. It also would be about 80 feet from the apartment building, which is tucked back from the road. The tower would look like a tree, similar to other masked cell towers in the region, including one along the Garden State Parkway in Clark. The Zoning Board of Adjustment held a hearing about the application Monday night, but will continue it on Sept. 20 because of further testimony and questions on the application. The board…

I am deeply concerned about the proposal of a cell tower in our community. I am concerned about the children in the area, in addition to the monetary value it will have on our resale of homes. I certainly don't trust any safety information that T-Mobile will present. Do not under-estimate the owners of Short Hills Terrace.
