The Millburn store closed down Main street for a New York style fashion show to celebrate the official grand opening.
A Saturday night in Millburn turned into a New York fashion show as the Red Carpet Boutique celebrated its grand opening in its new space. Police blocked off Main Street for a crowd of over 700 people at the end of last month. The event hosted a fashion show in a tent that spanned Main Street from Millburn Avenue to Taylor Road. The runway was the centerpiece of the night where the Red Carpet Boutique's daytime and evening dresses and bridal gowns were displayed in a fashion show. Co-owner Gina Colabelli said people told her, "I feel like I'm in New York." The store originally moved during the summer to its new space at 344 Millburn Ave., which added over 4000-square-feet to the boutique. "We just completely outgrew our space," co-owner …

Downtown Millburn is jumping tonight with entertainment, food, shopping and prizes. The fun goes til 9 p.m.
update: By 6:30 p.m. 780 people who had pre-registered for Girls' Night Out in Millburn, were already downtown shopping and more were on their way to the check-in table. Downtown merchants have been getting ready for weeks for a big night tonight. Last October, 500 people pre-registered and about 700 people came out despite cold and rainy weather. Forecasters say the chance for rain tonight is about 50/50, but organizers don’t see that as a deterrent. As of 6:30 p.m., the skies were gray and the predicted rain had held off. And besides, merchants said, most of the festivities are inside shops, galleries, salons and restaurants, where it’s nice and dry. “It rained last October 13th too so I see that as a positive thing as the rain didn't …

In May, downtown merchants and the alliance will host a second GNO.
Girls Night Out was so successful for merchants in Downtown Millburn last fall, that they’re bringing it back for an encore. Downtown Millburn has set the date – mark your calendars – for May 3, and has already received a lot of sponsorship support, but is still accepting sponsors, said Executive Director Lisa Hackett. When the numbers were finally tallied, nearly 700 people came downtown to shop, eat and drink and participate in raffles and giveaways, she said. That’s a lot of people for a town that, except for its bars and restaurants, generally rolls up the sidewalks after business hours. “It was so successful that when we were trying to decide what to do this spring, our members wanted to do this again,” said Downtown Millburn …
