DiVincenzo Jr. has used money in his campaign coffers to cover $15,222 worth of meals at 30 different restaurants — all labeled as campaign meetings, according to a published report Tuesday. DiVincenzo, who is not up for re-election until 2014, has dined at several pricey area restaurants — including 36 times at McLoone’s Boathouse in West Orange, according to the report filed with the state Election Law Enforcement Commission and posted on NJ.com. The filing reveals DiVincenzo has spent more than $17,000 at the restaurant — including $10,000 for a holiday party he hosted there. ELEC rules prohibit the use of campaign funds for personal use. A Millburn fourth-grader's artwork took second place out of 630 entries in the annual 'My Essex County Poster Contest' and his artwork was selected by the county to be featured on the cover of 2013 county clerk's municipal guide.  The student, Alexander J. Ma, of Wyoming Elementary School, was recently recognized by Mayor Sandra Haimoff for his poster, 'How Essex County Enriches My Life' last week. "This is the young man who made Millburn proud," Haimoff said before she presented the fourth-grader with a proclamation at the last township committee meeting.  His winning poster depicted images of the Turtle Back Zoo, the Essex County Environmental Center, the Mini-Golf Safari, sledding in South Mountain Reservation, Paper Mill Playhouse, …

Millburn Rec Employee Charged with Theft

Township resident Jennifer Lubisco is alleged to have stolen in excess of $500 from the municipality while working for the recreation department.

A seven-year township employee was accused Wednesday of stealing in excess of $500 from the township, officials from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office announced. Jennifer Lubisco, 33, of Millburn, was charged March 27 with stealing money from the township while working as a customer service representative for the township recreation department, the prosecutor's office said in a release. An internal audit between January 2011 and August 2012 revealed approximately $8,000 was missing, according to the prosecutor's office. “Public service is always a position of trust. Any violation of that trust is taken seriously by this office,” acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray said. Lubisco was issued a summons and released pending an …
