Miller Boys Overcome Harsh Conditions to Win 7-3
The Millburn boys lacrosse team entered their Saturday morning matchup with the New Providence Pioneers hungry for their first victory of the season. The weather offered no relief, as the Millers endured low temperatures, strong winds, and heavy rains throughout the game. But the Millers overcame the elements to notch their first win of the season, 7-3. They improve to 1-4 on the season. Millburn goalie Kyle Ripp turned in a stellar performance in what many fans agreed was his best game of the season. “I felt good out there. Experienced defense and seniors key to successful season
Three years ago, Josh Webman was getting his first taste of varsity action as a freshman lacrosse player at Millburn. But more importantly, he was taking mental notes. During Millburn’s strong 13-4 season in 2006, Webman noticed how well the team was working together—the chemistry was there, the team handled pressure well and they were winning games. One key similarity between that team and this year’s club is the overabundance of seniors who contributed on and off the field. Lacrosse clinic trains girls for the spring season
It's the season to get ready for spring sports. Third and fourth grade girls run drills with coaches at the Millburn-Short Hills Girls Lacrosse Club's Winter Clinic and Millburn High School. The girls practice on Sundays for a month to prepare for the spring season, which starts in April.
