After six years on the Board of Education, much of that time spent on the negotiations committee, Board Member Mark Zucker has decided not to run again. Zucker announced his intention not to see public office at Tuesday night’s board meeting, at the end of the meeting where the board approved the teachers’ contract – something that took about 17 months to work out this time around. “I have found the experience interesting to say the least,” he said. “My decision to not run for re-election is not based upon dislike, disappointment or dissatisfaction with the job. Dear Editor, I have spent the better part of six years working tirelessly to ensure that our school district is responsibly managed. I have actively participated on multiple committees including the CSA Search Committee to identify a new superintendent and have dealt with the preparation all of the budgets for the past six years via my ongoing service on the Finance Committee.
