Millburn Film Fest Deadline Extended

The film submission deadline has been extended to Monday, Feb. 11.

The submission deadline for Millburn Film Fest has been extended to Monday, Feb. 11, according to the Education Foundation of Millburn and Short Hills website. For entry rules and forms check out attached PDF or go to the Education Foundation of Millburn-Short Hills website.

MHS Senior Assembly Features 'Hunger Games' Producer

MHS Graduate Jon Kilik returns home to open film festival and talks to seniors at an assembly as well.

The producer of the film The Hunger Games Jon Kilik, returned to his alma mater today for an assembly with seniors, and told them that coming back was better than going to the Academy Awards. “I can’t tell you how much it means to me to be here,” he said, adding jokingly that he went to South Mountain School and “grew up on the mean streets by the Rahway River.” “It gives me the shivers because so much hasn’t changed,” he said. “You can go home again.” Kilik also came to his hometown to open the Education Foundation-sponsored Millburn Film Fest Wdnesday night, where eight winning student films will be screened. Last night was amazing. Congratulations to all of the MHS and MMS film makers! Each film was thoughtful, creative and entertaining. To have Millburn alumnus Jon Kilik there was special. 'The Hunger Games' Producer to Open Film Fest

Millburn Film Fest will screen eight winning films Wednesday; producer of 'The Hunger Games' to open festival.

Updated 12:30 p.m. The producer of the film The Hunger Games Jon Kilik, comes back to his high school alma mater to open for the Millburn Film Fest on Wednesday, when the eight winning films will be shown. A 1974 MHS graduate, Kilik’s past credits include Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X, Dead Man Walking, Pleasantville, Babel, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, upcoming The Comedian starring Robert De Niro, and other films that have earned 27 Oscar nominations. Kilik has nearly 40 films to his credit, from comedies, intense dramas to documentaries. The Hunger Games had the 3rd best U.S. movie debut earning $155 million at the box office its opening weekend. Today is the Deadline for Millburn Film Fest

Students should enter their films today.

Student filmmakers at the high school and middle school who want to be a part of the Millburn Film Fest, need to get those films in today. The deadline for the film festival is today (Feb. 16), and the top short films chosen by the judges will be shown at the Red Carpet Premiere on Wednesday, April 11 at 7 p.m. at Millburn High School.  An encore performance will be held on April 18 at the Clearview Millburn Cinema at 10 a.m.  For Millburn Film Fest tickets, go to http://millburnfilmfest.eventbrite.com/ (sponsorships now available and tickets will be available after Feb. 16).  The submission rules have been amended so that a trailer DVD is no longer required and the films can be from 3-15 minutes in length.  The Millburn Film Fest is …
