New electronic devices are one of the biggest gifts of the holidays, and now with smartphones, tablets and the like available, Patch has a free present for you.  You follow Patch on websites, Facebook pages and Twitter accounts, but have you downloaded our Patch app? Pete - just saw this months later. How does wifi or cellular change anything in this conversation? Android includes tablets and phones. Just like ios includes tablets and phones. We're talking about apps for those platforms. Doesn't matter what connection they use.   more ›

Thanks for the Memories...and the Stories

Turns out, Millburn is a great news town.

Wow – what a wild ride. In the last 15 months, since I started reporting the local news for Patch in Millburn and Short Hills, there have been three natural disasters (Hurricane Irene, October snowstorm and an earthquake), numerous power outages, flooding and fights over charter schools, the zoning of a synagogue, a grocery store and a cell tower. If that weren’t enough for one idyllic little suburb with the best high school in the state, there was a crime wave of home and auto break-ins, a carjacking and attempted carjacking, two suicides on the tracks, an attempted murder case and a body found in the Reservation. Then there were the parades, games, plays, concerts and restuarant openings and closings and, after the hurricane, reopenings…
