Recently elected, Rupali Wadhwa talks about what she would like to do once she takes her seat on the Millburn school board
Following last week's election two newcomers were elected to join Millburn's Board of Education. The Patch sat down with one of them, Dr. Rupali Wadhwa. Here's what she said: The Patch: Now elected what is your first priority? Wadhwa: Our community and schools are still recovering from Hurricane Sandy's impact. My immediate focus is to work with fellow Board members and Dr. Crisfield to help our schools get back on normal rhythm and plan to make up for the time lost. My other priorities are to quickly integrate to perform various Board member duties and build a plan with fellow Board members to achieve our longer term goals. The four candidates running for the three Board of Education seats participate in the first public forum.
The Short Hills Association hosted the first of two public forums for the Millburn Board of Education candidates on Thursday evening. Arp Trivedi, a member of the association, moderated the forum and led the discussion with 30 minutes of questions from the association. Following Trivedi, the public had the opportunity to question the candidates. The four candidates vying for the three board seats are Elliot Cahn, Dr. Eric Siegel, an incumbent, Dr. Rupali Wadhwa and Raymond Wong. Yes, Serta, it is important to vote responsibly on November 6th. But for some of us, voting for a block of three candidates just for the sake of change isn't responsible at all.
