Katie Beimfohr led Millburn soccer in scoring and led them to a state title
One of the names most synonymous with the greatest Millburn girls soccer team of all-time is Katie Beimfohr. She led the team in scoring, was among the team leaders last season and was such a vital piece to Millburn's Group 3 championship puzzle this fall. "It's certainly gratifying to know that after everything we've done and all of our hard work, we were able to end on such a high note. So we're all pretty happy," Beimfohr said. She finished the season with a team high 15 goals and assisted five times in leading the girls to a 17-6 season, the program's second ever sectional championship and its first ever Group 3 championship. She scored the game winner in the Group 3 semifinal, scored in the county semifinal game and in a bunch more …

The Miller girls soccer team completes the best season in team history.
Anytime someone mentions the Beimfohrs, Tanya Sood, Nikki Willens, Tori Graessle and the rest of the 2010 Millburn girls soccer team, the words "greatest ever" will have to be mentioned likely the next 20 years. "I've had a big goofy smile on my face since we won it, and it hasn't left since," said Millburn head coach Andy Sones. "This is the biggest and most exciting highlight of my coaching career so far." In winning Group 3 championship, the Miller girls have won the highest possible championship that any Group 3 team can win. Barring a Miller team going undefeated on the way to the group championship, all future Millburn girls teams can hope for is to be just as good—it would be hard to imagine a team being better. When you consider …

The Millburn girls soccer team comes back to win its first ever state title.
A journey four years in the making came to a victorious conclusion on Saturday morning at The College of New Jersey. The Millburn girls soccer team completed its playoff run with an impressive 4-2 win over Hopewell Valley, earning the team its first ever Group 3 championship. "This is so amazing. It's just really great that we were able to come this far," said Miller senior Taylor Perretti. "This was our year. We were able to work so well with each other and just play off of each other." The Hopewell Valley Bulldogs came into the game with just one loss, 16 shutouts and allowing six goals all season. The Bulldogs had never surrendered more than a goal in any game this fall. The Bulldogs still had no answer for the Miller girls who …

The Millburn girls soccer team beats Ramapo 1-0 to earn a shot at the championship.
The Millburn girls soccer team has gone 420 minutes this postseason without surrendering a goal and extended their shutout streak to six consecutive games with a 1-0 victory over Ramapo in the Group 3 semifinals on a rainy Tuesday night at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge. "I knew that their objective was going to be to score more goals than us and I knew that our objective was to concede less than they did," said Millburn head coach Andy Sones. "I knew that if we could shutout, that we could score a goal, and we did." A great first half goal by Katie Beimfohr and another superb performance by the Millers defensively, including 10 combined saves from keepers Tori Graessle and Courtney Brosnan, led to Millburn's first ever trip to the …

The girls won their first section championship in 20 years
An early goal by sophomore Jenny Olensky, backed up by Millburn's fifth consecutive shutout and fourth of this postseason, led to the Miller girls soccer team capturing its first state sectional championship since 1990 Friday afternoon. Fifth-seeded Millburn held off a relentless late push by the third-seeded West Morris Central Wolf Pack in Chester on Friday afternoon and won the North II Group 3 section 1-0. "We talked about trying to score early," said Millburn head coach Andy Sones. "It was never going to be a pretty game on this field. But on a field like this, you'd rather be hanging on to a lead than chasing." Following a throw-in by Miller co-captain Emily Beimfohr, Olensky settled the ball just outside of the goalie box in Wolf …

The girls soccer team beats top-seeded Scotch Plains on the road.
For the second consecutive season the Millburn girls soccer team has gone on the road and knocked off the top seed in the North II Group 3 playoffs to advance to the finals. A shutout performance by Miller keeper Tori Graessle and the Millburn defense, coupled with a 35-yard beauty of a goal from Emily Beimfohr in the second half, led to a 1-0 semifinal victory over Scotch Plains on Tuesday. "It was character today. They played better soccer than us in the first half, we were hanging on for the last 10 or 12 minutes and somehow we did hang on," said Miller head coach Andy Sones. "Second half we were a little more into it, it was obviously a defensive game for us today. But we've got players who are capable of going and picking one out at …
