Share Your Thoughts on the Proposed Stop & Shop

Residents for Traffic Safety urges residents to voice their opinion in the next Zoning Board meeting on Jan. 28.

The hearing on the proposed Stop and Shop, which was originally scheduled for Dec. 17, is now set for the Jan. 28 Millburn Zoning Board Meeting. Residents for Traffic Safety urges those concerned with the impact on traffic, safety and quality life to attend and actively participate when public questioning begins.  According to the Millburn-Short Hills organization the Millburn Zoning Board's traffic consultant will question Stop and Shop's traffic expert. “The over-riding issue is the traffic that will be generated by a 69,000 square foot supermarket, the vast majority of which — and all delivery trucks — will enter and exit via Millburn Avenue,” spokesperson Rick Sacks pointed out.  “Stop & Shop’s own consultants predict 6,150 cars will …

Eyesore - Really..."eyesore"? The L&T property doesn't look much different today than when L&T inhabited the building. And if it is then perhaps the owners ought to clean it up! Zoning Board and Township Committee Meets This Week [UPDATE]

Here's a look on what's going on in town this week.

This week in Millburn and Short Hills, the township gets back down to business with busy first few days of the week. To kick things off, the Zoning Board will meet tonight, at 7 p.m., on the second floor of Town Hall. Stop & Shop presentation will not be made again until Oct. 1. Please see the PDF for the agenda. On Tuesday, the Township Committee will meet, for the first time since the announcement of the the proposed shared services of dispatching, at 8 p.m., on the second floor of Town Hall. The agenda has not been posted yet. On Wednesday, the Planning Board has a meeting scheduled, at 7:30 p.m. ,on the second floor of Town Hall.
