The Characters Reign Over The Rain

The rock band ends the summer concert series inside the Bauer Center Sunday night.

It took two Sundays and a move inside to the Bauer Community Center, but a little rain (ok a lot of rain) was not going to stop The Characters for the  fourth and final performance in the Taylor Park summer concert series. The concert originally was scheduled for Aug. 15,  but was rescheduled due to heavy rainstorms. Heavy rain Sunday caused a move inside to the community center but did little to dampen the performers and audience enthusiasm Formed in 1982, The Characters are Danny Solazzi on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, George Messina on drums, Rob Traegler on keyboard and guitar, Frank King on guitar and Craig Colandro on bass. Road Kings Rock the Park

The Road Kings treated everyone to incredible sounds on a gorgeous night.

Millburn's own Tim Monahan and the Road Kings cut through the smell of mosquito repellent and the sound of the Mister Softee truck to grace the audience with a spectacular soundtrack for the day's sunset Sunday in Taylor Park. With Joe Rowley on bass, Gregg Gulbronson on lead guitar, Art Mezzo on keyboard, Steve Busby on drums and Monahan on guitar, The Road Kings played classic rock songs like "Unchain My Heart" and "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out." All the while, the smiles on each band members' face matched the smiles in the audience. Midway through their set, The Road Kings were joined by locals Maryellen and Craig Just, who can also be seen playing with the band Enough Said. The entire group played a wonderful rendition of Led Zepellin's "…
