North Jersey Train, Bus Holiday Schedule

What's open, what's closed Thanksgiving and how to get around during the holiday season.

The day before Thanksgiving is known as the most traveled day of the year. Getting around North Jersey can be a difficult task any time, but with the start of the holiday season Thursday, traffic will be more congested. Want to find a better way to get around our area? From trains, to buses, to light rails, here’s a Patch list to help you plan how to get around this holiday weekend and what’s open and closed for Thanksgiving and Black Friday.  • NJ Transit trains will run on a weekend/major holiday schedule, with extra trains running on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, Raritan Valley and Morris & Essex lines to accommodate customers traveling to and from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Interfaith Thanksgiving Service to be held Sunday

The annual service will also collect food for C.H.O.W.

The Livingston Interfaith Clergy Association will host the annual Community Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 18, at 7:30 p.m. at Temple B'nai Abraham.   Clergy from many houses of worship in the township will lead and participate in the service.  The adult and children's choirs from Temple Emanu-El of West Essex will also participate. This year's offering will be directed to C.H.O.W. (Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse) a joint effort of the Livingston Clergy Association.  Livingston C.H.O.W. was begun several years ago as a way for all the houses of worship to pool their resources together in order to more effectively meet the needs of people in need of Livingston and the surrounding communities.  The program is …
