More Than $1,700 in Men's Cologne Stolen from Mall Store

Abercrombie and Fitch in The Mall at Short Hills reports 27 bottles of men's fragrance was stolen.

More than $1,700 in men's cologne was stolen from a store in The Mall at Short Hills Saturday, according to Millburn police. The manager of Abercrombie and Fitch reported at about 3:30 p.m. she noticed that 27 bottles were missing from the front display, Capt. Michael Palardy said. According to the report, none of the store employees saw anyone take the bottles.  The store manager told police, 15 3.4-ounces bottles, valued at $74 each, and 12 1.4-ounce bottles, valued at $54 each, were missing, with a total value of $1,758.

Millburn Rec Employee Charged with Theft

Township resident Jennifer Lubisco is alleged to have stolen in excess of $500 from the municipality while working for the recreation department.

A seven-year township employee was accused Wednesday of stealing in excess of $500 from the township, officials from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office announced. Jennifer Lubisco, 33, of Millburn, was charged March 27 with stealing money from the township while working as a customer service representative for the township recreation department, the prosecutor's office said in a release. An internal audit between January 2011 and August 2012 revealed approximately $8,000 was missing, according to the prosecutor's office. “Public service is always a position of trust. Any violation of that trust is taken seriously by this office,” acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray said. Lubisco was issued a summons and released pending an …

Police Search for Alleged Mall Wallet Thief

Millburn police are asking the public's help identifying woman allegedly involved with multiple pickpocket thefts in the Mall at Short Hills.

Millburn police are asking for the public's help in identifying an unknown woman who allegedly was involved in multiple pickpocket thefts at the Mall at Short Hills, officials announced Wednesday. The victims told police they discovered their wallets missing when they went to make a purchase. After allegedly stealing the wallets, the woman reportedly used the stolen credit card to buy items in the mall, police said.  According to the report, the suspect has been seen on video surveillance in numerous stores making fraudulent purchases.  Police are asking anyone who may identify the woman to contact the Millburn Police Department Detective Bureau at (973) 564-7017 and refer to case #13-3574.

Man Steals Almost $80,000 in Rolexes, Police Say

Two watches were stolen from The Mall at Short Hills last week when the security guard went on lunch break.

Millburn police are searching for a man who stole almost $80,000 in Rolex watches from Ross Simons in The Mall at Short Hills on Nov. 28.  The theft, which occurred at about 6:24 p.m., happened as the stores security guard stepped away for his lunch break.  According to police, the man entered the store at 6:12 p.m. and asked a sales associate to see two watches. The man put one of the watches on and walked over to a mirror. When the man returned to the sales associate, police said, he grabbed the second watch and ran out of the store. The sales associate told police one watch was a rose gold Rolex, valued at $40,550. The other watch was a $37,550 white gold Rolex. Warrant Issued for Theft at Gotham

The suspect allegedly stole $100 in cash.

Millburn police have a warrant in hand for the person they believe stole, among other things, $100 from Gotham City Clothing on Monday. The name of the suspect has not been released because police have not issued the warrant yet. Capt. James Miller, police public information officer, said police used the video from the store and information developed in talking to area businesses to determine the suspect in the theft. The theft was reported at just after 1:30 p.m. on Monday at Gotham, which is located at 391 Millburn Ave. Sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. $100 in cash and a debit card were stolen from a desk in the back room, according to police.
