New Town Improvements Approved by Township Committee

Ordinances voted on at town council meeting will pay for road resurfacing and police and fire equipment, among other needs.

The Millburn Township committee approved two ordinances to pay for capital improvements throughout the town. Among the projects that are to be completed are resealing roads, adding handicapped access to buildings, upgrading computer servers and adding new equipment to the police and fire departments.  "It's a laundry list of things that needed to be taken care of that were already approved in the budget," Mayor Sandra Haimoff said. The township approved on first passage an ordinance for $1.6 million and a bond ordinance for $944,000. "We schedule a time each year to pave and resurface streets," Haimoff said.  The township will receive an estimated $250,000 from New Jersey Department of Transportation and $36,000 from New Jersey's …
