Millburn Parking Deck Back on Schedule
Township offers update on the parking deck on Lot 2, at the intersection of Lackawanna Plaza and Essex Street.
Despite reports of delays in the work on the Millburn parking deck, the Millburn Township Committee reported work is indeed on schedule. "We've had a few minor setbacks," Deputy Mayor Robert Tillotson said at last week’s meeting. Tillotson said workers discovered contaminated soil and a tank at the site, but “they (construction crews) have been able to continue work." The township worked with the planning board last week to make sure the project stays on track, Business Administrator Tim Gordon said. The contaminated soil, classified as historic fill, was found last month in the corner of the lot at Lackawanna Plaza and Essex Street where a piling will be placed.
