"Millburn Gives Back" Raises $30,000 for Sandy Victims

School community raises money for Sayreville partnership as part of its new program "Millburn Gives Back"

As Millburn recovered from the impact of Hurricane Sandy, the leaders of the Millburn school community, including Dr. James Crisfield, Superintendent of Schools, the presidents of the PTOs, the PTO Conference Outreach Committee and the Education Foundation, felt it was important to reach out to help another New Jersey school district that was hit hard by the storm. They created “Millburn Gives Back,” a long-term effort to partner with the school district and community of Sayreville, NJ. Families of more than 100 students in Sayreville lost their homes and most of their possessions, and many of them are displaced and living with other families, or in temporary quarters such as hotels or shelters.   The first step in this effort has been a …
