Millers Move Into First Place Tie

Millburn High School varsity baseball team jumps into first place with its victory over Seton Hall Prep.

The Millburn varsity baseball team rode the dependable right arm of senior Ian Riddell and a timely power display by junior David Talpalar to a 4-3 victory over Seton Hall Prep on Monday at Verducci Field in West Orange. The victory on April 29, which was Millburn's 12th in its last 13 games, moves the Millers into a first-place tie with Seton Hall Prep in the American Division of the Super Essex Conference. Millburn is now 15-3 overall and 10-1 in SEC play while Seton Hall Prep (17-1, 10-1 SEC) suffered its first loss of the season. Riddell, a right-handed pitcher, improved to 4-0 on the season and 14-1 for his career by scattering nine hits while striking out five and walking one batter. Millburn High Heads To Finals

Millburn Millers defended their position and won the first round of the Tournament of Champions on Tuesday.  Jane Bary at first singles had a great victory over Mendem's 1st singles: 6-2, 6-0. Lauren Cohen at second singles had the longest match and struggled with miscommunications and line calls during her match. She kept fighting but in the end lost 4-6, 3-6. Jia-Ling Tuan at third singles lost to Mendem's third singles 6-0, 6-0. Patricia Chau and Stephanie Chen Schmidt at first doubles were a pleasure to watch. Their unbelievable movement, communication and net play got Millburn their second point in today's tournament. Similarly, Rebecca Mandel and Sandy Xie at second doubles had an amazing match. Millburn Millers Home Opener Tailgate

Millburn Football Booster Club invites residents to the Second Annual Home Opener Tailgate Party.

Come out and support the 2-0 Millburn Millers Varsity Football Team at their home opener this Friday Sep 28  at the newly renovated Neigel Field located behind Millburn High School. The festivities begin at 5 p.m. with the Second Annual Home Opener Tailgate Party. Included in the admission price to the game are FREE Hamburgers and Hot Dogs courtesy of the Fifth Quarter Club, FREE Drinks courtesy of Arizona Iced Tea, a DJ playing all of your favorite tunes, FREE games and activities for the kids, FREE face and hair painting, a Cheerleading clinic provided by the MHS Cheerleading squad, and FREE giveaways from local sponsors. Millers Football Trounces Livingston, 32-0

Under new Head Coach Patrick Leonardis, Millers Football is back

The feeling at Livingston High School was unlike any other in the past three years of Millburn Varsity Football: not only did the Millers defeat their Super Essex Conference rival in Livingston, but they shut them out. 32-0. The Millburn football team is back, with a new coach in Patrick Leonardis, and newly formulated offensive and defensive units. The first quarter of the game was neck-and-neck; both the Millers and the Lancers were kept scoreless. But in the second quarter, the offense exploded behind junior quarterback Milo Freeman. Freeman found senior Steven Montuoro for an 11-yd TD pass (after a fumble recovery by senior Mac Novich), and only minutes later, handed off to senior back Alex Schoen for a touchdown.
