13 Students Honored for Poetry, Flash Fiction and Persuasive Writing
Millburn and Short Hills high school students place for poetry, flash fiction and persuasive writing in the 2012-2013 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
A dozen Millburn High School writers win awards in poetry, flash fiction and persuasive writing in the 2012-2013 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Regional winners were announced last week in short story, personal essay/memoir, journalism and science fiction/fantasy. Michelle Waters won Silver Key in flash fiction for the piece “Farmhouse.” Waters also won honorable mention in poetry for the piece “Cigarette Poem, Ninety.” Amanda Prager won Gold Key in poetry for the piece “Road Test.” Prager won Silver Key in flash fiction for “Dead Hearts.” She also won honorable mention in poetry for “The Feeling of Sixteen” and honorable mention in dramatic script for “Tunnel Vision.” Simran Malhotra won Silver Key in poetry for the piece “Handful Of …
